Athletes from Ukraine and Russia will take part in the open Belarusian parachuting championship in Vitebsk
August 24, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. About 80 parachutists from three countries will take part in the 18th Open Belarusian Championship in Classic Parachuting on August 27-30 in Vitebsk. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the commander of the parachute training flight of the educational and sports institution "Vitebsk Aeroclub named after A. Gorovets" DOSAAF, Vasily Stratovich.
Parachutists from Russia and Ukraine will join the strongest domestic masters of this extreme sport, and they will compete for awards in the individual standings. In total, 15 teams from various regions of the country have applied to participate in the championship, including teams from the Ministry of Defense, Air Force and Air Defense, as well as the 103rd Separate Mobile Brigade stationed in Vitebsk.
The competition program includes two exercises: a jump for landing accuracy and a solo acrobatic jump. First, participants will determine the most accurate parachutist: after leaving the An-2 aircraft at an altitude of 1 thousand meters, it is necessary to hit a disk 2 cm in diameter upon landing; penalty points are awarded for deviating from the target. An acrobatic jump is performed from an altitude of 2.2 thousand meters with a 30-second parachute opening delay. During this time, the participant must perform a set of figures, including 360-degree turns and somersaults. Judges evaluate the speed and accuracy of the acrobatic complex performance.
Winners and prize-winners in individual and team standings will be awarded cups and medals. The competitions will be held at the Vitebsk Aeroclub named after A. Gorovets. -0-
