Demand for ice cream in Vitebsk doubles or triples during the "Slavianski Bazaar" festival

Demand for it in Vitebsk doubles or triples during the festival days, the Vitebsk concern "Meat-Dairy Products" informed a BELTA correspondent. Leading manufacturers in the region strive to fully meet the city's needs and are taking a number of measures. For example, the Lepel Dairy and Canning Plant, whose production capacities for sweet products are currently fully loaded, is redirecting its sales flows, focusing on Vitebsk. At the festival, the enterprise sells about 20% of its monthly production volume of the beloved treat. Due to the high demand for "Lepelka" brand ice cream, the plant has already begun planning projects to increase its production, which are planned to be implemented in 2011-2012. While Lepel has just started considering this issue, Orsha Dairy Plant OJSC has already launched a new line. Currently, it produces 5.5 tons of sweet products daily, and starting next week, production will increase to 8 tons per day. The new equipment allows the enterprise to increase ice cream production by more than 20% and double its range to 30 items. Orsha Dairy Plant plans to develop this area: in 2011, the enterprise intends to master the production of ice cream with fruit fillings and fruit ices. Ice cream from the Postavy Dairy Plant, Orsha Dairy Plant, and Moloko OJSC, which is also widely represented in festival Vitebsk, enjoys constant popularity among the guests of "Slavianski Bazaar". -0-
