The comparison with Nikolai Baskov can only flatter me - D. Danilenko
July 13, Vitebsk /Corr. BELTA/. A comparison with Nikolai Baskov can only flatter me, said Dmitry Danilenko, Russia's representative at the "Vitebsk-2009" pop song contest, to journalists in Vitebsk today, BELTA correspondent reports.
The singer explained his change of image by the fact that the current one suits him better. He noted that he has no intention of replacing Baskov on the stage, the Russian stage is large, there is enough room for everyone.
Dmitry Danilenko was born in Gomel, where he graduated from a music school with an accordion major and a university. Until recently, he was a student at the M.A. Rimsky-Korsakov Russian State Conservatory in St. Petersburg. As Dmitry said, in the last days before the start of "Slavianski Bazaar", he was transferring from the St. Petersburg Conservatory to the Moscow one.
According to Dmitry Danilenko, the fact that he scored the highest number of points based on the results of the two competition days of "Slavianski Bazaar" is largely due to his team, led by General Producer Boris Shpigel. On the first day, the Russian contestant performed the song "Fantastika", written by Philipp Kirkorov. Therefore, Dmitry Danilenko said, my result is partly his merit. In the final, Dmitry sang the song "Knyazhna" from the repertoire of the ensemble "Pesniary". -0-
