Several innovative projects are being implemented at the Vitebsk Tractor Parts Plant
JSC "Vitebsk Tractor Spare Parts Plant" is part of "MTZ-HOLDING" and ships up to 70 percent of parts and assemblies to the parent company in Minsk, without which it is difficult to imagine domestic agricultural machinery today. The plant is expanding its product range and improving product quality through the implementation of a number of investment projects. At the same time, the share of shipped innovative products this year is expected to be 23 percent.

The focus is on acquiring modern metalworking equipment and creating flexible production modules that allow for rapid switching to the production of various parts. A laser cutting machine for cutting sheet metal for in-house production and for fulfilling third-party orders, including to the Russian Federation, is currently being launched. However, such investments are always for the future – the enterprise has a wide sales geography: today the plant sells products in 18 countries. The largest buyer is the Russian Federation, which accounts for about 70 percent of foreign supplies. This year, the enterprise's export growth rate is expected to be 112 percent.
The plant produces about 300 types of products annually, shipping up to 2 million units to the parent company. 38 types of parts and assemblies are in the production technological preparation stage, shares Oleg Vyacheslavovich:
— In the first quarterartal, revenue from the sale of new parts for us is expected to be around 100 thousand rubles. The launch of new products is planned for the end of 2024 – beginning of 2025. For example, the so-called wet brake, which will be installed on almost the entire line of MTZ tractors. We plan to produce up to a thousand units per month. The production growth rate by the end of 2024 should be 107.5 percent.
Work is underway to transfer the production of the BELARUS Sh-406 universal chassis and the BELARUS MSU-108 snow-clearing machine from MTZ. The site for this is ready. Assembly is expected to begin at the end of February – beginning of March.

By the way, the enterprise actively supported the information and educational project of the Pervomaisky district of Vitebsk "ProfMarshrut". Students from the regional center visit the plant on excursions – many admit that they would not mind returning here one day as young specialists.
— Just imagine: thanks to this smart machine, you can measure parts up to 0.0001 (!) millimeters. The time for quality control of parts, and the timelines for mastering and preparing new products for mass production have been significantly reduced. The human factor is excluded, as is the risk of defective parts reaching the OAO "MTZ" conveyor belt.
Since the introduction of the Contura coordinate measuring machine at the enterprise, there have been no questions about the quality of brake discs produced by OAO "VZTZCh". Moreover, there is talk of transferring their entire line to Vitebsk. The premises and modern equipment fully allow for this.

Recently, a modern high-tech parts processing line was installed at the Vitebsk enterprise, which made it possible to reduce the cost of production, increase production volumes, and improve working conditions. The plant director, Oleg Shimchenko, clarifies:— We are doing everything to ensure that the manufactured parts and assemblies are in demand. We are modernizing production, including the manufacturing of housing parts. For these purposes, we invested more than 4 million rubles last year, and in 2024 we plan to invest over 6 million.

I am continuing a family tradition – my father still works here as a milling machine operator. It is gratifying to note that everything is not just in order, but there is confidence in the future. So much new equipment has been installed! The same high-tech CNC machines allow for a significant improvement in quality. Wages are growing, and young people are joining the team. My main advice is: do everything conscientiously, with high quality. As our President rightly says, everyone must start with themselves.
