Three combine crews have already surpassed the thousand-unit mark in the Vitebsk region
The past weekend not only saw record-breaking combine operators but also demonstrated the highest growth in harvested areas.
August 10, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The first combine operator crews to harvest a thousand tons have appeared in the Vitebsk region: three crews have crossed the coveted mark, reported to BELTA correspondent the head of the department of land cultivation, crop production and fodder production of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Agriculture and Food Committee, Alexey Turkov. Congratulatory telegrams from the chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Kosinets, were received by Vladimir Lapkovsky from SPC "Prudniki" of Verkhnedvinsk district, Vyacheslav Konyshko and Vyacheslav Rabchenko from SPC "Kupalovsky" of Orsha district, Nikolay Moskalenok and Dmitry Yatsukovich from SPC "Torguny" of Dokshitsy district. The past weekend not only saw record-breaking combine operators but also demonstrated the highest growth in harvested areas. The area of harvested fields increased by 17 thousand hectares, or by 4.7%, and the grain yield in one day amounted to 55 thousand tons. As Alexey Turkov noted, despite the fact that this year's harvest began almost a week later than last year's, thanks to high rates, the lag in harvested areas and grain yield is only half a day. In total, in the region, as of the morning of August 10, 35% of the sown areas occupied by grain crops have been harvested, and 427 thousand tons of grain have been threshed. The average yield is 35 centners per hectare. -0-
