Medium-sized cities should be centers for the development of industry, education, and culture - Natalya Kochanova

Medium-sized cities should become centers for the development of industry, education, and culture. This was stated today in Vitebsk by the Head of the Presidential Administration, Natalya Kochanova, during the introduction of the new Presidential Aide - Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, Vitaly Vovk, to the region's active members.

Natalya Kochanova paid special attention to the tasks facing the leaders of local authorities throughout the country. A significant block of issues is related to the development of medium-sized cities with a population of over 80,000 people. In the Vitebsk region, such settlements include Polotsk, Novopolotsk, and Orsha.

"These cities should be centers for industrial development, cultural and educational centers, and become examples for everyone," emphasized the Head of the Presidential Administration. "We need to work closely with them, allocating budget funding and providing funds in local budgets."

Touching upon the topic of industry and economy, the Head of the Presidential Administration stressed the need to establish effective work at each enterprise and organization. Everyone should have a clear development strategy. The tasks set last year regarding wages, employment, and prices remain relevant. "Everyone will have to work on this to implement everything," noted Natalya Kochanova.

Another serious topic is related to agriculture. "In the Vitebsk region, this is a serious issue. I know that you are solving it by creating integration structures. At the same time, a reasonable approach should be taken for each individual agricultural enterprise. Order needs to be established in every agricultural organization; our people live and work there, and they should receive decent wages and have their housing issues resolved," said Natalya Kochanova.

As an example, she cited the agricultural production cooperative "Kolkhoz Rodina" in the Belynichi district of the Mogilev region, which she visited last week. The enterprise made a very positive impression. "I was simply delighted. They don't have super-modern farms, but it works just wonderfully. All conditions are created. There are 292 employees, of whom 90 are

youth, 50 - on parental leave. These figures indicate that people are returning there," noted the Head of the Presidential Administration.
