S. Shukhno proposes to grant privileges for admission to universities to the winners of the Union State school olympiad

Winners of the Union State schoolchildren's olympiad should be granted privileges for admission to philological specialties at universities in Russia and Belarus. This point of view was expressed today to journalists by Deputy State Secretary of the Union State Sergei Shukhno. He took part in the solemn closing ceremony of the 4th Union State schoolchildren's olympiad "Russia and Belarus: Historical and Spiritual Community," reports a BELTA correspondent. "This olympiad has international status, and initiatives have already been voiced which, I hope, will be supported by the Ministry of Education of Belarus and the Federal Agency for Science and Education of the Russian Federation," said Sergei Shukhno. According to him, the level of participants' preparation and the interest of Russian and Belarusian regions in the olympiad are growing year by year. The next, 5th Union State schoolchildren's olympiad will be held in 2010 in the Russian Federation. -0-
