The names of the laureates of the Petrus Brovka Literary Prize for 2022 have become known

On the eve of the New Year holidays, the laureates of the Petrus Brovka Literary Prize for 2022 were announced. They are Konstantin Nilov, a writer from Orsha, and Tamara Krasnova-Gusachenko, a writer and chairperson of the regional branch of the Union of Writers of Belarus.

– The prize named after our famous countryman, a native of Ushachy district, was established by the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee in 2012. During this time, 22 writers and poets have become laureates, who worthily continue the glorious literary traditions of the Vitebsk region. The themes of their works touch upon various aspects of life, but the main focus is the love for their native land and its heroic past. This is especially poignant in the Year of Historical Memory, – noted Vyacheslav Durnov, Deputy Chairperson of the Regional Executive Committee, at the award ceremony held at the V. Lenin Regional Library.

This year, ten authors were nominated for the prize. The members of the competition commission chose two who, in their opinion, created works that are significant in content and artistically worthy.

Konstantin Nilov received the award for his novella "Kopys Novella," which tells about the feat of the participants of the party and Komsomol underground and partisan movement in Kopys, Orsha district. The book was published by the Belarusian publishing house "Zvyazda." As the author explained, this work is 70% based on documentary evidence. The writer relied on documents, memoirs of the descendants of underground fighters, and materials from family archives.

Konstantin Nilov is the author of 14 books and a laureate of the republican "Golden Cupid" award, which he received for the song cycle "Wreath of Belarus."

In the "Children's Literature" nomination, Tamara Krasnova-Gusachenko's book "My Native, Beloved Land" was recognized. This publication can be called a children's encyclopedia, and it is not by chance that it was included in the school curriculum for extracurricular reading for younger children. The book contains answers to various questions, interesting facts about the seasons, folk and Christian holidays, animals and birds, correct pronunciation of words, and so on.
