The Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee addressed cultural workers with congratulations on their professional holiday

Dear workers of culture of Vitebsk region!

I sincerely congratulate you on your professional holiday – the Day of Cultural Workers!

On this day, we honor the diligent workers in the field of national culture revival, those who preserve our heritage, create the spiritual traditions of the Dvina region – museum, library, theater, and cultural center employees, creative ensembles.

The development of culture and the preservation of national heritage are priority areas of state policy, contributing to the realization of each person's creative potential. Annually, about 100,000 mass events are held in the Vitebsk region, including 9 international festivals and competitions. Among them are the International Arts Festival "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk", the International Festivals of Modern Choreography and Music named after I. Solertinsky, and traditional culture festivals in Polotsk, Postavy, Dubrovno, Braslav. Creative ensembles also made a significant contribution to the organization of the regional festival of rural workers "Dazhynki – 2015", creating an unforgettable festive atmosphere.

About 4,000 amateur creative groups operate in the Vitebsk region. 11 of them have the honorary title "Honored Amateur Ensemble of the Republic of Belarus". We are proud of the achievements of our famous compatriots and will always support those who, with their talent and skill, make a significant contribution to meeting the spiritual needs of society.

The Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee has established a prize for high creative achievements in the field of culture and art. To support the most talented youth, the best students of children's art schools and colleges also receive annual awards.

I am confident that with your talent and dedicated work, you will strengthen the northern region of Belarus with new creative achievements.
