The republican competition in the field of energy efficiency and resource saving "Energy Efficiency Leader" has started

Objectives of the competition:

• conducting professional independent assessment and expertise by specialists from leading research and industry departments and institutions;
• providing consumers with objective information about the best energy-efficient products used in Belarus.

Organizer of the Competition:

• Department for Energy Efficiency of the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus
• Scientific Research and Design Republican Unitary Enterprise "BELTEI"
• Republican Scientific and Production Unitary Enterprise "Institute of Energy of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus"
• Business Support Center "Delovye Media" (Minsk)

Under the auspices of:

Department for Energy Efficiency of the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus

Nominations and Categories of the Competition:

• Nomination "Energy Efficient Product of the Year". The nomination considers products, materials, and equipment whose use ensures reduced energy consumption in the following categories:
• Nomination "Energy Efficient Technology of the Year". The nomination considers energy-efficient mechanisms, systems, and solutions in the following categories:
• Nomination "Energy Efficient Building of the Year". The nomination considers residential apartment buildings and individual houses based on thermal performance and specific heat consumption indicators for heating and ventilation.

The actual data for comparison for each product are the indicators contained in the test reports submitted by the Participants. These reports must be issued by accredited laboratories and testing centers of the Republic of Belarus.

Criteria for selecting winners:

• Based on the conclusions presented by the Expert Council, a comparison of expert assessments is carried out, which results in an integrated assessment of the presented product. The winner is recognized as the enterprise that received the highest score.
• When determining the final score for each product, the weight of the specified criteria is distributed as follows:
• comparison of the product's energy efficiency indicators with the characteristics of other products declared in this nomination and category – 40% of the score;
• comparison of the product's financial and economic characteristics with the characteristics of other products declared in this nomination and category – 40% of the score;
• expert assessment of the service level, as well as the consumer properties of the product - 20% of the score.
