On the anniversary day, a psychosomatic department was opened at Vitebsk City Hospital No. 1, which indicates continuous progress.
– Your service is very important and necessary for people. Over 50 years, you have helped a huge number of patients and rightfully deserve their gratitude and that of their relatives. On behalf of the regional leadership, please allow me to congratulate both current employees and veterans who laid the foundation for today's leading psychiatric institution in the region on its anniversary, and on the fact that the service is developing, the combination of science and practice yields good results, which undoubtedly reflects on the well-being of our citizens, – noted Vyacheslav Durnov, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, as he addressed the staff and presented well-deserved awards during the solemn medical council on the occasion of the anniversary.
During the celebration, awards were also presented to the institution's workers by Mikhail Vishnevetsky, Head of the Main Department for Healthcare of the Regional Executive Committee, Vladimir Plytkevich, Chairman of the Regional Committee of the Healthcare Workers' Trade Union, and Elena Martynova, Chief Physician of the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Center for Psychiatry and Narcology.
Incidentally, the region's first psychosomatic department is located at Vitebsk City Clinical Hospital No. 1 (VCCH No. 1), in close proximity to the VOKCPN dispensary, which will contribute to improving the accessibility and quality of specialized care for patients. The renovated 30-bed department features comfortable wards, including those of increased comfort, procedure rooms, and a hypnarium. Furniture and equipment worth over 300,000 rubles of budget funds have been purchased, and about 25,000 rubles of the institution's own extra-budgetary funds have been used. Significant financial assistance was provided by the regional committee of the Belarusian Trade Union of Healthcare Workers (BTUH) and city enterprises.
The department is intended for patients with adjustment disorders, post-traumatic disorders (domestic violence, sexual violence), depressive and anxiety states, phobic syndromes, memory, attention, and cognitive function disorders, including those after severe somatic diseases.
