Setting high goals for the future of Belarus is enabled by stability and a focus on creation - a deputy
December 7, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The stability of the economy and the focus on creation allow Belarus to set high goals for the future. This opinion was expressed to a BELTA correspondent by Galina Zhelanova, Chairperson of the Vitebsk Regional Organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Society (BRCS), Deputy of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies, and member of the regional organization of the Belarusian Women's Union.
"Unlike my colleagues from other countries, I work in a peaceful country without armed conflicts and its own refugees. Here, only people who have chosen Belarus as their new permanent place of residence and have arrived from countries with unstable political situations have this status. This is very telling," emphasized Galina Zhelanova. She noted that the peace and stability preserved in difficult conditions give the country the opportunity to work on creative issues.
According to the interlocutor, the program of socio-economic development of Belarus for 2011-2015 most vividly reflects this. The concern for the common person, the growth of the well-being of the entire Belarusian people, runs like a red thread through all the provisions and goals outlined in it, with the family being defined as the main priority. Serious state support for the institution of the family is already being provided in Belarus: demographic security programs, "Children of Belarus" are effectively implemented, and benefits for housing are provided to large families. A further increase in the child benefit and the opportunity to receive free housing upon the birth of a fourth child will be a step that will undoubtedly be appreciated by both young and large families.
An important block of topics raised by the head of state at the IV All-Belarusian People's Assembly concerned health, the re-equipment of all medical institutions in the country, and the development of small towns. "To solve all these issues, of course, it is necessary to develop the economy, because money does not appear out of thin air. Therefore, the focus on new technologies and innovations is correct, and it is also necessary to work responsibly and disciplinedly in fulfilling one's duties," concluded Galina Zhelanova. -0-
