On the background of strengthening positive trends in the economy and financial sector of Belarus, the refinancing rate of the National Bank is again reduced by 0.5 percentage points.
July 14, Minsk /Corr. BELTA/. The refinancing rate of the National Bank of Belarus is reduced from today to 11.5% per annum, the information department of the National Bank informed a BELTA correspondent.
On the background of strengthening positive trends in the economy and financial sector of Belarus, the refinancing rate of the National Bank is again reduced by 0.5 percentage points, the department noted. From July 14, 2010, its level will be 11.5% per annum. The corresponding resolution of July 6, 2010, No. 277 was adopted by the Board of the National Bank.
The next reduction in the refinancing rate will strengthen the trend of reducing rates on bank loans provided to economic entities and the population, which will become an additional incentive for the restoration of high rates of economic growth in the country.
At the same time, the terms of ruble deposits offered by banks to the population will continue to provide higher yields compared to deposits in foreign currency and the expected inflation rate.
Recall that on May 12, the National Bank of Belarus reduced the refinancing rate by 0.5 percentage points to 12% per annum. Earlier, on April 19 of the current year, the refinancing rate was reduced from 13% to 12.5% per annum.
The main directions of monetary policy of Belarus for 2010 provide for a reduction in the refinancing rate by the end of the year to 9-12% per annum, and loan rates - to 12-15% per annum. -0-
