Step tests and anti-stress massage are offered at the exhibition "Vitebshchina - for a healthy lifestyle"

About 50 industrial enterprises, medical, educational and public organizations of Vitebsk have joined forces to promote health at the II specialized exhibition-fair "Vitebsk Region for a Healthy Lifestyle 2009", which opened today in the regional center, reports a BELTA correspondent. The exhibition exposition provides an opportunity to get acquainted with a wide range of products and services that promote a healthy lifestyle. Medical institutions will introduce visitors to new technologies and modern approaches to the prevention and treatment of various diseases. Consultation points are set up directly at the exhibition site, where visitors can seek advice from a therapist, cardiologist, pediatrician, endocrinologist, allergist, oncologist, undergo a step test and receive anti-stress massage. Anyone can "get" a health passport by undergoing an examination right at the exhibition. Art groups will present their programs on the stage of the "Vitebsk" concert hall. For the fair visitors, the organizers have planned sports competitions, contests, games and quizzes. For three days, manufacturing enterprises will conduct product tastings, and health and tourism organizations will present their full range of services. The main goal of the exhibition is to inform the public about all aspects of a healthy lifestyle and to promote a responsible attitude towards one's health. The format of the event allows reaching a large number of people, attracting public attention to the issues of forming a healthy lifestyle and developing healthy behavior skills, the organizers noted. This exhibition-fair is being held for the second year in a row in the region; in 2008, it was visited by about 10,000 people. The exhibition-fair is organized by the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the Regional Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health, and the Vitebsk Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. -0-
