January 28, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. An export supply strategy is being developed in the Vitebsk region. This was announced today at a meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee by the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Kosinets, BELTA correspondent reports.

By February 1, each district and city of the region will present draft plans for exporting products by enterprises located in their territories. The main task of the strategies will be to expand the geography of supplies, create its own distribution network, strengthen trade and economic ties with twin cities, and determine the nomenclature, volumes, and terms of supplies.

Processing enterprises of the region plan to increase supplies of meat and dairy products to the markets of the CIS countries, Syria, Vietnam, UAE, India, Iran by 1.2 times in 2010, and confectionery products to Latvia, Estonia, and Moldova. Supplies of frozen products will be carried out to Poland, Latvia, and Lithuania.

According to the results of 2009, the main decrease in exports was recorded by the enterprises "Naftan", "Polotsk-Steklovolokno", "Orshansky Lnokombinat", "Vityaz", machine-tool plants "Vistan", "Visas", "Krasny Borets", OJSC "Keramzit Gravel Plant of Novolukoml".-0-
