A strategy for the development of paid services is planned to be developed in each district of the Vitebsk region
May 21, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. A strategy for the development of paid services should be developed in each district of the Vitebsk region. This task was set today at a meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee by its chairman, Alexander Kosinets, BELTA correspondent reports.
According to the results of 2008, the service sector generated 40% of the region's gross domestic product. Revenues to the consolidated budget from this sector amounted to Br773 billion, or 18.1%. The growth rate of paid services through all sales channels reached 113.1% with a target of 113.8%. According to the results of the first quarter of this year, the target was not met. With a plan of 115%, the growth rate was 107.4%. Only Polotsk and Liozno districts fulfilled the forecast indicator.
In general, the volume of transport, banking, health resort services, hotel services, postal, and legal services has decreased. The forecast indicator for housing and communal services, communications, tourism and excursions, physical culture and sports has not been met. Among other regions of the republic, the Vitebsk region ranks last in the provision of cultural, veterinary, health resort, and communal services.
Meanwhile, the region has sufficient opportunities for a significant increase in the volume of paid services, Alexander Kosinets is confident. To achieve this goal, the head of the region instructed to develop by June 15 in all districts its own strategy for the development of paid services with specific measures in each area, as well as to conduct public surveys on this issue.
The chairman of the regional executive committee added that by the end of the first half of the year, all forecast indicators must be met. "Every manager bears personal responsibility for this," Alexander Kosinets emphasized. -0-
