The construction of kindergartens and schools in new residential areas of Vitebsk region cities will continue in 2015
With budget funding, a kindergarten for 200 children has been commissioned this year in the Medtsentr microdistrict of Vitebsk. By the end of the year, it is planned to complete the construction of a dormitory with a canteen at the Luzhesny Cadet School and the first phase of a nursery-kindergarten-primary school in Novopolotsk. Due to the acute need for educational institutions in new microdistricts, a number of such facilities are planned for next year. In particular, as reported by Ivan Shchurok, Head of the Education Department of the Regional Executive Committee, these include kindergartens in the Bilevo-2 microdistrict of Vitebsk, Zadneprovye-5 in Orsha, in Glubokoye, as well as two secondary schools in the Bilevo district. It is worth noting that in 2014, new residents moved into a residential building for families raising children left without parental care in Rossony. By the end of the year, the construction of a similar building will be completed in Sharkovshchina. In 2015, two such facilities will appear – in Gorodok and Postavy.
Ivan Antonovich noted that the issue of repairing educational institutions, including roofs and engineering networks, is also relevant today, especially in Dubrovensky, Dokshitsky, Tolochinsky, Senno, and Ushachsky districts. A total of 198 schools and kindergartens need repair. It is also necessary to update equipment and purchase school buses. By the way, this year, 17 buses were added to the fleet at the expense of the budget, and the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus provided additional sponsorship in the form of 11 vehicles for transporting children. In addition to budget funds, funds from extra-budgetary activities are used for the development of the education system. Such revenues for the year amounted to 73.7 billion rubles (excluding universities and secondary vocational educational institutions). From sponsoring enterprises, boards of trustees, and sponsors, 25.5 billion rubles were received, which is almost twice as much as last year.
