The construction of three major facilities of the Vitebsk broiler poultry farm will be completed by the end of 2021

Seven major investment projects of the Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Farm (17 in total for the region) have been included in the State Program "Agrarian Business" for 2021–2025. What stage of implementation are they at and what challenges are being faced? This was the subject of an interested discussion at a recent seminar with the participation of the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev and the Minister of Energy of Belarus Viktor Karankevich.

The poultry farm is simultaneously building three major facilities: a poultry slaughter and processing shop; broiler shop No. 3 (site No. 1, which will house 14 poultry houses for growing broiler meat (48 thousand birds each); and a cattle slaughter and processing unit near the settlement of Trigubtsy. The Deputy General Director of the poultry farm for construction, Igor Vecherov, emphasized that these facilities will be commissioned by the end of the year (10 out of the planned 14 poultry houses will be operational).

The General Director of the poultry farm, Anna Norkus, invited the head of the region and the head of the ministry not by chance. The fact is that the construction and commissioning of these powerful, energy-intensive facilities will require the modernization of the substation near the settlement of Verkhovye, which is under the jurisdiction of RUP "Vitebskenergo". Without the leadership of the region and the relevant ministry, it is impossible to coordinate and agree on all issues related to modernization, which will be carried out at the expense of the factory.

It is worth noting that four more investment projects are in the preparatory stage: the reconstruction of the seed drying and sorting line near the agro-town of Yanovichi (to be completed in December); broiler shop No. 3 (site No. 2) with a commissioning deadline in 2022; completion of the reconstruction of the mixed feed production in 2024; and reconstruction of poultry slaughter and processing shop No. 2 (finished products sub-shop) with commissioning in 2024.

These facilities will also require the modernization of another substation located near the settlement of Kurino, Igor Vecherov emphasized.
