The city employment center will help Vitebsk students find jobs in their free time from studies, the Vitebsk City Employment Center told a BELTA correspondent. Vitebsk has 4 higher education institutions and 17 secondary vocational schools, with over 15,000 students and pupils studying there. Many young people would like to work in enterprises and organizations in their free time, not only during holidays. Students of one of the regional center's universities approached the governor with a proposal to create a youth employment service. By the governor's order, a sector for promoting the employment of student youth is being created at the city employment center. Specialists have started their work by forming a database of vacancies. Both small and large enterprises have shown interest in employing students, in particular, the shoe joint venture "Belvest" and the municipal enterprise "Gordormost". "Belvest" is ready to hire young people for three-hour shifts and can offer them a convenient schedule. "Gordormost" needs janitors and can also employ young men and women who are not afraid of work. It is expected that the student employment promotion sector will start operating at full capacity immediately after the winter session. According to the city employment center, over 1,000 schoolchildren and students in Vitebsk were covered by secondary employment this year.
