Student of the Year 2018 was chosen in the Vitebsk region
The girl is an excellent student, engaged in scientific and research work, is a scholar of the special fund of the President and the commander of the PSU pedagogical student team "Fortuna", actively participates in the volunteer movement and is seriously engaged in singing. Maria is a third-year student of the Faculty of Finance and Economics, majoring in "Social Communications". And with her brilliant performance at the competition, she confidently proved that she had made the right career choice.
To present her achievements, Maria used relevant PR technologies, modern promotion methods, and even special effects (images characterizing all areas of her hobbies and activities were projected onto a snow-white costume).
In the promo video "I am a student!", Maria Savchenko tested the six degrees of separation theory, according to which any two people on Earth are separated by no more than five levels of common acquaintances. At the start, Maria addressed the dean of her faculty, and at the end of the video, the deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Olympic medalist and chairman of the Belarusian Athletics Federation, Vadim Devyatovsky, wished her success in the competition.
The outcome, according to the ambitious student's plan, should be a meeting with the head of state, and victory in the regional stage of the BRSM competition has brought the girl one step closer to realizing her dream. Maria Savchenko will represent the Vitebsk region at the republican finals, which will be held in Minsk on November 22, which means anything is possible! Especially since two years earlier, a representative of the Polotsk university, Dmitry Kukso, was recognized as the best student in the country.
– The competition gave us incredible emotions. All the rivals are very strong and worthy of victory, positive and friendly guys. I want to thank the organizers for their tremendous work and, of course, my support group, who worried and cheered for me; I wouldn't have managed without them, – Maria shared her impressions.
Indeed, the competition for the title "Student of the Year-2018" turned out to be quite intense, and it was difficult to single out one favorite until the final round. In the end, the winner and the second-place holder, a student of VGMU Andrey Vodich, were separated by a very small margin of points.
The young man, a winner of international olympiads in surgery and topographic anatomy, a future ophthalmologist, and an athlete, won the sympathy of the audience and the jury thanks to his intelligence, confidence, oratorical skills, and brilliant knowledge of the Belarusian language and literature.
The bronze medal of the regional competition rightfully went to Olga Kurganova, a representative of VSU named after P. Masherov. The future educator knows four foreign languages, studies excellently, sings beautifully, and is involved in charity and volunteer work. The participant also revealed the secret of how she magically manages to be in two places at once and do twice as many good deeds, introducing the audience to her twin sister.
The most friendly and powerful support group was for the contestant from the veterinary academy Maxim Kornienko: his fans thoroughly prepared for the competition and chanted slogans to the beat of drums, and even the rector of VSAUVM Nikolay Gavrichenko took part in one of his performances.
Valeriya Kramarenko from VSTU rocked the hall with a sharp economic rap.
An outstanding dance show was presented by a future lawyer, a student of the Vitebsk branch of MITSO International University, Anastasia Nizhnikova.
