The Student of the Year of the Vitebsk Region will be chosen on World Youth Day
The competition, aimed at developing and supporting youth initiatives, intellectual and creative potential, and identifying leaders, is held annually. Based on the results of the qualifying stages in all universities of the region, the six best participants were selected, who will compete in the exciting contests of the regional final.
Vitebsk State Medical University will be represented by Alexandra Zhavrid, a 4th-year student of the Faculty of Pharmacy; the Veterinary Academy will be represented by Valeria Romanova, a 2nd-year student of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Mark Sergeev from the 3rd year of the Faculty of Information Technologies will defend the honor of Polotsk State University; Kirill Makarov, a 2nd-year student of the Faculty of Pedagogy, will represent Vitebsk State University named after P. Masherov. Ruslan Novikov, a 2nd-year student of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, will represent Vitebsk State Technological University. And finally, Veronika Bosakova, a 2nd-year student of the Faculty of Economics and Law, has been chosen as the representative of the Vitebsk branch of the International University "MITSO".
All participants have an average grade point of at least 8, with the highest being 9.4 for the future teacher Kirill Makarov. And, of course, all the participants are distinguished by an active life position and talents in various fields, which they will have to demonstrate. In addition, a rich program of events awaits the participants and guests of the project. At 11:00 AM, the fifth regional championship in outdoor laser tag among universities for the BRSM regional committee cup will take place in the Park of the Soviet Army. For the first time, teams not only from the Vitebsk region but also from the Smolensk region will participate. Athletes and spectators will be able to enjoy real soldier's porridge prepared at a field kitchen. At 12:00 PM, an open dialogue "Problems and Prospects of Youth Cooperation" will be held at the university named after P. Masherov, with the participation of activists from the Vitebsk and Smolensk regions, as well as delegates of the World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi. It is expected that
All participants of the regional tour will receive prizes from partners, and the winner will get a tourist trip to Tallinn-Riga-Stockholm and the right to represent the region in the republican final, which is scheduled for December 8.
By the way, the winner of the republican competition "Student of the Year - 2016" was Dmitry Kukso from the Vitebsk region, a student of Polotsk State University, who this year became a member of the jury. The event is organized by the Vitebsk Regional Committee of BRSM with the support of the Main Department of Ideological Work, Culture and Youth Affairs of the Regional Executive Committee and the region's universities.
