Students of higher education institutions of the Vitebsk region will try on the image of a rescuer-firefighter
On March 28, Vitebsk will host the regional stage of the republican competition on life safety fundamentals among students from five higher education institutions, as reported by the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
"Students. Safety. Future" competition is held in the Vitebsk region for the seventh consecutive year. Its objectives are to foster a responsible attitude towards personal and public safety, acquire skills for correct behavior in emergency situations, and promote a healthy and safe lifestyle among students. Teams from Vitebsk State Medical University, Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov, Vitebsk Academy of Veterinary Medicine, Polotsk State University, and the Vitebsk branch of the International University "MITSO" will participate in the contest.
Each team will consist of 10 students: 8 main members (5 males and 3 females) and 2 substitutes (one male and one female). They will have to test their physical fitness, their ability to act correctly in the "Man-made emergencies" competition, experiencing firsthand the work faced by rescue firefighters, as well as demonstrate theoretical knowledge, video clips on life safety topics, and show creativity in the "Safety Hit" stage. The competitions will be held at the base of the "Vityaz" rescue squad and VSU named after P.M. Masherov.
