Subbotin to Vitebsk region livestock breeders: your industry is one of the most high-tech
The head of the region noted that Vitebsk region has a huge development reserve. "In the future, the focus should be on meat and dairy farming. We have 21 districts, and 18 of them are recognized as unfavorable for agriculture, so growing grasses in such conditions, with a high protein content, which is the basis for the development of animal husbandry, is a natural choice. It should be noted that animal husbandry, despite the sometimes superficial attitude towards it, is one of the most high-tech sectors in the economy. There is work to be done here, and our performance should be better. The livestock breeders awarded today are outstanding representatives of this profession. Specifically, I emphasize, outstanding, because the conditions in Vitebsk region are quite difficult," Alexander Subbotin emphasized.
Addressing the agricultural workers, the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee paid special attention to the personnel potential of the livestock industry. "You are workers in one of the most complex agricultural sectors. The challenges of our time, the development of science and technology influence the results today, which are impossible to achieve, particularly in animal husbandry, without careful selection of feed, development of vaccination schemes, use of high-quality innovative vaccines, and so on. There are no trifles in your industry: if one link fails, the entire long, complex technological chain breaks," the head of the region noted, adding that one of the most difficult and meticulous professions is that of a livestock breeder.
According to Alexander Subbotin, the region annually honors the workers of enterprises that are flagships in animal husbandry. These are SPC "Larinovka" and OJSC "Agrokombinat "Yubileiny" of the Orsha district, OJSC "Shaiterovo" of the Verkhnedvinsk district. According to Alexander Subbotin, the quality standard of the products of these enterprises is high, and their achievements are no worse than global ones.
During the award ceremony, traditionally co-organized by the agro-industrial complex workers' union, 108 livestock breeders were honored with certificates and letters of appreciation. They were wished success and the achievement of new heights.
