A wedding with Ded Moroz and Snegurochka took place at the Vitebsk District Civil Registry Office

An unusual ceremony was held at the registry office of the Vitebsk district. At the solemn ceremony, which took place on the eve of the New Year, in addition to the groom, the bride, their relatives and friends, Santa Claus and Snegurochka were present.

As Elena Klokova, Head of the Registry Office of the Vitebsk District Executive Committee, said, the young couple was offered an unconventional New Year's service – congratulations from the main winter fairy-tale characters – when they submitted their application. As a result, in addition to the traditional exchange of rings and the first romantic dance, the lovers, together with their guests, danced around the Christmas tree, sang songs, participated in contests and a quiz.

Elena Viktorovna noted that future spouses increasingly prefer creativity: they choose off-site wedding registration, organize themed weddings, and registry office employees fully support such endeavors and initiatives. However, many couples are still prone to superstitions.

Thus, in the past, leap, year, the Wedding March sounded less often at the Vitebsk district registry office. In 2016, 191 marriages were registered here, for comparison, in 2015 – 256, but in the current year, specialists hope for positive dynamics in the statistics, especially since there are prerequisites for this: many dates in January-February are already booked.
