Священнослужитель из Верхнедвинского района удостоен президентской премии «За духовное возрождение»

On the eve of the New Year, the Head of State signed a decree on awarding the President of the Republic of Belarus Prize "For Spiritual Revival". As reported by the press service of Alexander Lukashenko, five such high awards were presented based on the results of 2015.

It is gratifying to note that among the laureates is the rector of the parish of the Holy Trinity in the village of Rositsa, Verkhnedvinsk district, Vitebsk diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus, Cheslav Kurechko.

Father Cheslav was awarded the prize "for his significant contribution to the preservation of interfaith peace and national harmony, as well as for his active participation in the spiritual and educational activities of the country and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, which has gained wide recognition in society".

Recall that last year the rector of the church in Rositsa became the laureate of the honorary title "Person of the Year of Vitebsk Region". Thanks to the priest's efforts, the parish of the Holy Trinity came to life, the territory around the church was transformed, where hundreds of varieties of flowers and shrubs grow, the lake and the Catholic cemetery were improved, ponds with forged bridges appeared, and Rositsa itself was revived, which is now actively visited by pilgrims and tourists from different parts of Belarus and other countries. Seeing the priest's diligence, local authorities joined in the implementation of his ideas.

Much has been done through joint efforts, including a new asphalt road to the village. The editorial office of our newspaper joins the congratulations addressed to the rector of the church in Rositsa and wishes him good health for the implementation of all plans for the further revival of the parish and the settlement.
