Over 20 educators from the Vitebsk region will compete for a place in the national tour of the "Teacher of the Year" competition

The regional stage of the republican competition of professional skills of pedagogical workers "Teacher of the Year of the Republic of Belarus-2009" started today in Vitebsk. 23 best teachers of the region, who passed the preliminary city and district rounds, will compete for the right to represent the region in the final, the BELTA correspondent was informed at the Vitebsk Regional Institute for the Development of Education. Participants will have to go through a creative self-presentation competition, demonstrate their level of pedagogical skill in psychological and pedagogical testing, and conduct open lessons with students in gymnasiums No. 1, 3, and 8 of the regional center. On April 9, the 12 finalists who reached the semi-finals will perform in a pedagogical quiz show and conduct improvised mini-lessons on the stage of the Institute for the Development of Education, where their students will be their rivals this time. Only six will reach the final, and the names of the three winners, who will have the right to represent the Vitebsk region in September in Minsk at the republican stage, will be announced on April 10 based on the results of the defense of their author's educational project. According to specialists, the competition for victory is expected to be intense: the pedagogical experience of the contestants, including two men and 21 women, ranges from 5 to 26 years. Each participant has already proven their professionalism and skill by winning the qualifying round.
