June 5, Verkhnedvinsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Over 400 people will be additionally involved to ensure control over the centralized testing process in the Vitebsk region, the Vitebsk Regional Committee of State Control informed a BELTA correspondent.
To monitor the conduct of centralized testing, the Regional Committee of State Control and the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee have established commissions for control at testing centers. In addition to the permanent staff of the Committee of State Control, representatives of local executive and administrative bodies, law enforcement officers, employees of educational institutions, and representatives of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union (BRSM) will oversee each auditorium.
As emphasized by the Committee of State Control, the regional commission for monitoring the preparation and conduct of entrance examinations in higher and secondary vocational education institutions in 2012 is designed to ensure equal opportunities for applicants to enroll in state higher and secondary vocational education institutions, protect their legal rights and interests, promptly and efficiently consider appeals regarding testing and admission to educational institutions, and take measures stipulated by law to address identified violations. Hotlines will be operational at the Regional Committee of State Control and inter-district committees in Polotsk and Orsha.
In the region, as in the previous year, eight testing centers have been organized: at the Vitebsk State Technological University, Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov, Vitebsk State Medical University, Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine, Vitebsk State Technical College, Polotsk State University, Novopolotsk State Polytechnic College, and Orsha State Mechanical-Economic College. A total of 41,040 test participants have registered at these testing centers in the region this year, which is 2,383 fewer than in 2011.
Registration of applicants for centralized testing took place from May 2 to June 1. This year, centralized testing is conducted from June 13 to June 27 in accordance with the schedule approved by the resolution of the Ministry of Education. Registration for testing on a reserve day (in case of valid reasons for absence from centralized testing) will be from June 27 to July 1 at the Vitebsk State Technological University. The testing center for the reserve day (July 4) will be the Belarusian State University. -0-
