Over 500 young specialists will be accepted by educational institutions of the Vitebsk region in the new academic year

April 20, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Educational institutions of the Vitebsk region will be replenished with 542 young specialists in the new academic year. This was announced by the head of the education department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Ivan Shchurok today at a press conference dedicated to the end of the current academic year, BELTA correspondent reports. According to Ivan Shchurok, the region is fully staffed. Thus, last year, 557 young specialists arrived according to the applications of educational institutions. This year, if necessary, 542 people were assigned to 442 teachers. Touching upon the issue of providing young teachers with jobs, Ivan Shchurok emphasized that today 900 teachers of retirement and pre-retirement age are working in the region. Gradually, they are giving way to young staff. In addition, some university graduates are temporarily sent to work in preschool and extracurricular educational institutions. As vacancies become available, they are also transferred to general education schools. In total, over 51 thousand people work in the education system of the Vitebsk region, including 28.2 thousand pedagogical workers. 91% of teachers have higher education, and 32.6% have the highest qualification category. -0-
