Over 5.8 thousand large families live in the Vitebsk region, the committee for labor, employment and social protection of the Vitebsk regional executive committee informed a BELTA correspondent. The largest number of large families in the region are those raising three children - as of October 1, there are almost 4.8 thousand such families. In terms of territorial distribution, the largest number of them live in Vitebsk (224), Glubokoe (257), and Postavy (241) districts. In Vitebsk, there are 750 such families, in Orsha - 265, in Polotsk - 206, and only 181 in Novopolotsk. Four children are being raised in 832 families in the Vitebsk region. The largest number of such families among all districts is in Orsha district - 50, and in Vitebsk there are already 103. Five children are being raised in 223 families. 19 of them are registered in Dokshitsy district, 14 - in Orsha district, 12 - in Tolochin district, 18 - in Orsha, and 33 - in the regional center. There are 69 large families with six children in the region, and only 23 with seven children. At the same time, the latter category of families is completely absent in Beshenkovichi, Vitebsk, Gorodok, Liozno, Rossony, Tolochin, Ushachi, Sharkovshchina, Shumilino districts, and the Oktyabrsky district of Vitebsk. Only five regions of the oblast can boast a family with eight children: Braslav, Dubrovno, Orsha districts, Novopolotsk, and the Oktyabrsky district of Vitebsk. And only in the Glubokoe district live two such families. There are no parents raising nine and ten children in the region. A unique record for the region can be considered a family living in the Oktyabrsky district of the regional center, which has 13 children (one is already an adult), the committee noted. -0-
