Over 6.5 thousand residents of the Vitebsk region took part in the republican campaign "Forest Week"

Over 6.5 thousand residents of the Vitebsk region took part in the republican campaign "Forest Week", the Vitebsk Regional Production Forestry Association (PLHO) informed the BELTA correspondent. In addition to forestry workers, active participants in the campaign included schoolchildren, BRSM activists, teachers, representatives of local authorities, customs, the banking sector, social services, healthcare, housing and communal services, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and athletes. Their joint efforts created 677.2 hectares of pine and birch forest plantations, and 370 hectares of roadside strips were cleared. Special attention was paid to tidying up parks, alleys, and recreation areas, and repairing roadside gazebos. Participants of "Forest Week" worked on almost 150 such sites. Moreover, not only were these sites improved, but new facilities were also created. The interest of Vitebsk region residents in participating in the campaign is increasing year by year. This is evidenced by the wide range of sectors represented by the campaign participants. Many work collectives often propose implementing various interesting initiatives within the framework of the campaign themselves. -0-
