Over 700 children's works are presented at the international exhibition-competition "Perspective" in Vitebsk
June 1, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The winners of the international exhibition-competition of creative works by students of art schools and schools of arts "Perspective" will be announced today in Vitebsk, the city's Center for Contemporary Art informed a BELTA correspondent.
519 children are taking part in the competition, representing Vitebsk, Polotsk, Novopolotsk (Vitebsk region), Roslavl and Desnogorsk (Smolensk region, Russia), Rezekne and Daugavpils (Latvia), the German cities of Nienburg and Loccum, as well as Jinan province of China. In total, they have created about 740 creative works dedicated to the Year of the Native Land. It is noteworthy that six exhibition halls were required to display them.
The created works cover almost all types of visual arts: painting, graphics, design, decorative and applied arts. The themes covered are very diverse, for example, ecology, a healthy lifestyle. The main thing is that through these works, one can see the world as children see it, feel their moods and aspirations. At the same time, the artistic level of execution is quite high. With a high degree of probability, it can be argued that in the future, some of these young talents will gain wide recognition and be exhibited in the most prestigious art galleries. For now, you can get acquainted with their work in Vitebsk until June 8.
The best works in each of the presented fields of art will be announced by age categories: in the junior (6-10 years), middle (11-14 years), and senior (15-18 years) age groups. The names of the winners will be announced this evening at a ceremony at the Yakub Kolas National Academic Drama Theater. As a gift to the participants and guests of the competition, the musical performance "Hello, Broadway" will be shown.
However, before the official event, the children will still have time to participate in an event dedicated to International Children's Day. They will dedicate this date by drawing with paints on large boards, colored chalk on asphalt, and markers on balloons. The event will take place at 3:00 PM on the square in front of the Center for Contemporary Art.
The organizers of the "Perspective" exhibition-competition are the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, the Department of Culture of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, the "Vitebsk Center for Contemporary Art" Museum, and the administration of children's art schools and schools of arts in Vitebsk. The project is designed to popularize among youth the historical and cultural heritage of the Vitebsk People's Art School, founded by Marc Chagall and Kazimir Malevich, and to promote the exchange of experience in art education for children from different countries. -0-
