Over Br185 billion will be invested in the development of trade in the Vitebsk region in 2011-2015

Trade enterprises of the Vitebsk region intend to invest over Br185 billion in the development of their own material base in 2011-2015, the trade and services department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. The trade department has developed the investment program "Vittorg" for the upcoming five-year period. It is planned to commission 17 large retail facilities, including 8 shopping centers. Most of them will be built in new residential areas in Vitebsk. A grocery store with a retail area of 650 sq.m, a cultural and business center with a shop and a restaurant with a total area of 2.1 thousand sq.m will appear here, and another supermarket with an area of 1.4 thousand sq.m will be located. Along with own funds and loans for trade development, funds from foreign investors will be directed for a total amount of Br38.3 billion. From 2006 to 2009, over Br160 billion was allocated for the development of the material and technical base of trade and public catering enterprises. In 11 months of 2011, almost Br70 billion was invested. Since 2006, 432 stores with a retail area of 47.6 thousand sq.m have been opened in the region, including 9 supermarkets with an area of over 650 sq.m each, 17 shopping centers, and 9 markets. -0-
