Farm managers in the Polotsk district developed a scheme for fictitious calf sales to conceal animal deaths.

This fact was revealed at the farms "Ostrovshchina", "Shpakovshchina", "Polyudovichi", "Litvinovo" of the agricultural enterprise "Ostrovshchina".

 Carcasses were issued to farm employees as live calves in lieu of wages or material assistance. False information was deliberately entered into the documents for the transfer of animals regarding the reasons for the disposal (transfer, sale) of animals. This ulcer in the economy of "Ostrovshchina" was exposed by the Polotsk Inter-district Committee of State Control of the Vitebsk Region.

Villagers allegedly took calves and heifers "for fattening", covering up actual deaths with fictitious documents. In essence, the farm managers deliberately distorted the actual data of state statistical reporting. And the accounting department turned a blind eye to this. Meanwhile, the amount of damage caused to the farm in this way amounted to almost 6 million rubles. Two criminal cases have been initiated against officials for the "fake" sale of dead calves.
