The talent of Vitebsk musicians has been recognized with high awards at the M.K. Oginski competition for young orchestral instrumentalists

From March 2 to 3, 2019, the III Open Competition of Young Performers on Orchestral Instruments named after M.K. Oginsky was held in Molodechno, with over 130 young performers from Belarus and Russia participating. Among the participants were students of the Vitebsk State Musical College named after I.I. Solertinsky, who successfully overcame immense creative competition and stage fright. As a result, some of the highest awards of the competition went to our students.

Fourth-year student Vladimir Kovalyov (bass trombone) became the Grand Prix winner in the "Brass Instruments" nomination. First-degree laureate was first-year student Leonid Artemyev (saxophone). Second-degree laureates were third-year student Arseniy Vitko (saxophone) and first-year student Dmitry Devyatnikov (clarinet). Third-degree laureate was third-year student Ilya Krasikov (bass trombone). Victoria Solovyova, who has only been playing the unique instrument, the oboe, for a year and a half, received a diploma "For Creative Inspiration" and proved that love for one's chosen field, determination, and perseverance can work wonders.
