Customs services of Belarus and Russia will develop measures to develop cross-border trade
September 24, Orsha / Sergei Kochetov - BELTA /. Resolving current issues of customs services cooperation for trade development between Belarus and Russia should be the main outcome of the working meeting of heads of regional customs services of the two countries, which is taking place today in Orsha. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus Leonid Dosov, who heads the delegation of the customs service of Belarus at this meeting, BELTA correspondent reports.
"The closest and most intimate relations have been established between the customs services of our countries, and all emerging issues are being resolved, including thanks to such direct contacts between heads of regional customs services," Leonid Dosov noted.
The meeting's agenda covers a wide range of issues related to the current cooperation of customs authorities of the border regions of Russia and Belarus, aimed at promoting cross-border trade, as well as information exchange to eliminate queues at the Belarusian-Russian border. Issues of developing cross-border infrastructure and creating transport and logistics centers are of mutual interest. According to Leonid Dosov, a similar center has been established in Brest, and the first phase of a transport and logistics center near Minsk is planned to open in a month, so there is a need to create a similar structure in Orsha. All this should contribute to improving conditions for domestic exports and increasing Belarus's foreign trade turnover.
In addition, the participants of the event will discuss issues of cooperation between the customs authorities of the two countries in the field of culture and sports.
Representatives of the State Customs Committee, heads of Vitebsk, Polotsk, Mogilev, Gomel, as well as Sebezh, Bryansk and Smolensk customs services are participating in the event, initiated by the State Customs Committee of Belarus. -0-
