Customs approves linen uniform shirts

July 24, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Belarusian customs officers may soon wear linen uniform shirts. This was announced by Leonid Dosov, Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus, today at a meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, BELTA correspondent reports. As an experiment, Belarusian customs officers purchased fabric from the Orsha Linen Mill and sewed 200 uniform shirts. Currently, according to Leonid Dosov, they are undergoing "field" tests. Customs officers have wishes regarding the quality of the fabrics: it is necessary to work primarily on its structure. However, linen shirts are quite suitable for customs officers. "Customs gives the green light to linen uniform shirts," Leonid Dosov concluded. In his opinion, if technologists take into account the requirements of customs officers, it will be possible to sew uniforms from linen for other law enforcement officers as well. "This is a huge market, and it is worth working on it," believes the Deputy Chairman of the State Border Committee. The sale of linen fabrics remains a pressing problem for the Orsha Linen Mill. According to the economics committee of the regional executive committee, as of today, warehouse stocks worth Br66 billion have accumulated here. -0-
