11:09:40 26/8 RKO, RO, SAVI / 26 August 26, Minsk / Ekaterina Sidelova - BELTA/. The Yakub Kolas National Academic Drama Theater (Vitebsk) will present eight of its productions to Minsk audiences from September 17 to 26. Svetlana Dashkevich, head of the theater's literary and dramatic department, informed a BELTA correspondent about this. The touring program will open with the play "Vassa" by the artistic director of the Kolas Theater, Rid Talipov, based on the play by Maxim Gorky, staged for the anniversary of People's Artist of Belarus Svetlana Okruzhna. "A Family Story" is how the genre of the play is defined. The director focused on the issue of family preservation when the husband and father, Sergey Zheleznov (Honored Artist of Belarus Vyacheslav Grushov), is first accused of seducing a minor and then mysteriously dies. The mistress of the house and owner of a huge shipping company, Vassa Zheleznova (People's Artist of Belarus Svetlana Okruzhna), strives to unite what has long been destroyed. And, in the end, she breaks down in her attempts to make her daughters Natalya (Natalia Solomakha, Nina Obukhova) and Lyudmilka (Tamara Krasnobayeva) happy, to set her brother Prokhor (Valentin Solovyov) on the right path, to bring her daughter-in-law Rachel (Elena Sladkevich) and grandson Kolya back into the family, and to bring her confidante Anna (Svetlana Zhukovskaya) closer to her. How does this story resonate with the problems of modern families? The director discusses this with the contemporary audience. The confessional play "The Cross of Euphrosyne," staged by Mikhail Krasnobayev based on the play by Irina Maslenitsyna, tells about the holy Belarusian land, Euphrosyne of Polotsk, and prompts reflection on the peace of the soul. The role of Euphrosyne is performed by Honored Artist of Belarus Tatyana Likhacheva. Together with the main character, she returns to the city of her youth to tell the audience about a person who chose her path once and for all. The play tells about Euphrosyne's meetings and conversations not only with nuns, among whom are her own sister Evdokia (Anastasia Kurzhalova) and cousin Evpraxia (Natalia Solomakha), but also with townspeople who need her help and support. The Kolas Theater actors will guide the audience along the Polotsk paths of Saint Euphrosyne and try to find an answer to the question: "What is the most valuable thing today?.." Svetlana Alexievich's production "The Last Witnesses" is a solo for a children's voice. Children from a pre-war class gather 65 years after the war. The class teacher asks them to write an essay on the topic: "How I Spent My Childhood?" These are not biographies, but the most vivid episodes from the lives of children whose fate was intertwined with the Great Patriotic War. The play was staged by the author of the adaptation, director Vladimir Savitsky. The production features senior actors of the Kolas Theater: People's Artist of Belarus Tadeush Kokshtis, People's Artist of Belarus Svetlana Okruzhna, Honored Artist of Belarus Valentina Petrachkova, Honored Artist of Belarus Tamara Skvortsova. Minsk residents will also be able to see the play "The Windbags," where, in a humorous tone, actors of the younger and middle generations of the Kolas Theater will present an "anti-crisis program from Vladislav Golubok." The production of the musical comedy is directed by Vladimir Savitsky. Raisa Gribovich is the soloist in this play, accompanied by Yuri Tsvirkо, Svetlana Zhukovskaya, Anzhelika Barkovskaya, Galina Bukatina, Larisa Antoseva, as well as young actors: Natalia Solomakha, Yulia Krashevskaya, Maxim Frolov, Maxim Korzhitsky, and Andrey Kachan. The classic comedy "Chasing Two Hares" by Ukrainian playwright Mikhail Starytsky will be presented to the capital's audience by Mikhail Krasnobayev. Anastasia Kurzhalova plays Pronya Prokopyevna, and Artem Borodich plays Golokhvosty. The Kolas Theater actors have already toured Russia and Poland with this production, where it was met with constant success. It is a celebration of acting skills, with no minor roles. The director of the play "Hello, Albert!", Honored Artist of Belarus Vitaly Barkovsky, offers the audience a journey through the realm of the unknown. The play, based on the script by Yuri Sokhar, was staged for the 130th anniversary of the birth of the great physicist and lyricist of the 20th century, Albert Einstein. Gennady Gayduk plays the main role. On stage are Einstein's beloved women: Elsa Löwenthal (Anzhelika Barkovskaya), Marie Curie (Galina Bukatina), Helene Dukas (Nina Obukhova), and famous people who surrounded him: Enrico Fermi (Vladimir Sivitsky), Sigmund Freud (Valentin Tsvetkov), Pauline Einstein (Honored Artist of Belarus Tamara Shashkina), and even Isaac Newton in a prophetic dream (People's Artist of Belarus Tadeush Kokshtis). All these people helped preserve for posterity a man who not only devoted himself selflessly to science but also loved, suffered, grieved, rejoiced, and most often doubted the correctness of his own beliefs. The comedy "Psychoanalyst for a Psychoanalyst" by contemporary Belarusian playwright Diana Baryko was staged on the Kolas Theater stage by director Sergey Kulikovsky. It offers advice from a psychoanalyst on how young Svetochka (Natalia Solomakha) and Alex (Artem Borodich) can improve their personal lives. However, Dr. Vera Andreevna (Svetlana Zhukovskaya) herself often gets lost in life, especially when meeting a true professional, Albert (Georgy Loyko). All this is wittily commented on by the scholar Cat (Yulia Krashevskaya). For the little viewers, the actors of the Yakub Kolas National Academic Drama Theater have prepared the fairy tale "We Can't Do Without a Friend" by Sergey Kozlov, directed by Yuri Kulik. It tells the story of how Piglet (Evgeny Beresnev) and Hare (Maxim Frolov) became friends. The Wolf, played by Pavel Davydovsky, is not scary at all, but rather funny and clumsy. And Grandma Shmeleva (Valentina Bogdanova, Anastasia Kurzhalova), who raised Piglet, finally appreciates his outstanding abilities. What are they? The audience will find out in this simple musical story about true friendship by visiting the M. Gorky Theater, where the Vitebsk actors will be based during their tour. -0-
