The Yakub Kolas Theatre is planning to create its own creative studio

September 19, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The Yakub Kolas National Academic Drama Theater plans to create its own creative studio, said the theater's director and artistic director Valery Anisenko at a press conference dedicated to the opening of the 87th theater season, answering a question from a BELTA correspondent. The theater is experiencing a shortage of young acting staff. Graduates of acting faculties are reluctant to move to the provinces, so the theater has to rely on its own resources, stated Valery Anisenko. In the current theater season, it is planned to create a studio at the National Academic Theater, the best graduates of which will be invited to work in the theater. The director is confident that fresh talent can be found in Vitebsk, inspired by the "School Theater" festival, which has been running for over 15 years, where the acting abilities of high school students from Vitebsk schools made the most favorable impression on the distinguished director and teacher. Valery Anisenko is known in the theater world as an excellent lecturer and teacher. He began his teaching career in 1972 at the Belarusian Theater and Art Institute. Then he worked as a professor at the Department of Theater Arts of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts. Among his students are People's Artist of Belarus Alexander Tkachenok, film director Sergey Shulga, actors Oleg Korotkevich, Valentina Bogdanova, Igor Nikolaev, Andrey Karmunin, Valeria Voychenko. -0-
