The "Vitebsk" TV channel is now broadcasting in a new format
Readers have likely noticed that in the October 23 issue of "Vitebskiye Vesti," within the "TV Screen of the Week" section, the broadcast schedule for the "Vitebsk" TV channel was published compactly for the first time. This signifies changes in the operations of the regional TV. Elena Pantiukhova, Director of RUP RTC "Vitebsk Television and Radio Company," explained what these changes are.
The “Vitebsk” TV channel was established in 1997, but various network partners invited by the company broadcasted within its framework, for example, since 2007 – the “Mir” TV channel. That is, the retransmitted programs were interspersed with broadcasts of our television producers from time to time, and it was difficult for the region's viewers to understand that it was not the “Mir” channel, but the “Vitebsk” channel. The Vitebsk news broadcasts were aired on “Belarus 1”, a number of other programs – on “Belarus 2”. Thus, the idea arose to consolidate the regional TV production on one television button. The state program for the development of digital television also accelerated the changes. So, in November last year, the regional executive committee decided to create the “Vitebsk” TV channel. The staff of the television and radio company, the first and so far the only regional one in Belarus to dare such an experiment, is grateful for the support of the project to the head of the region, Alexander Kosinets.
The material base has been noticeably improved. Taking into account the new broadcasting format, two old studio pavilions have been capital renovated and re-equipped, and two more have been created, including one in the radio studio. Now, instead of the previous one or two hours, there will be 17 hours of daily television broadcasting. This is exclusively local television content that viewers will not see on any other channel. By the way, both state languages will still be heard here.
The focus is on news. Information releases are planned on television every hour. Some of them are designed as radio versions, as the regional radio studio can now also operate as a television studio. And in between news broadcasts, viewers will be offered various television programs. One of the main ones is a new, daily program called "Evening Vitebsk". It starts at 19:00. This is a television cafe, whose guests will share their impressions of the main events of the past day live. One of the two hosts, maintaining contact with viewers via the Internet, will be able to track and comment on their opinions and messages online. The repeat broadcast is at 23:00 and at 11:00 the next day. In general, at first, all channel programs will be shown three times, so everyone will have time to watch them.
There is an idea to implement a joint creative project with the editorial offices of district newspapers and radio. A trial news broadcast has shown that in the age of the Internet, this is quite realistic. "TV-Vitebsk" pages are being created in social networks.
So, starting Monday, October 27, the “Vitebsk” TV channel will continue its work, but in a new format. The first news report will announce this important stage of its biography. And in the program “Vitebsk Evening”, viewers will be able to meet all ten hosts. They will talk in more detail about the truly revolutionary project of their native TV and radio company, the creative ideas of journalists, directors, and operators.
On which channel will the “Vitebsk” TV channel be available?
– Every viewer can easily find it using the remote control. The landmark is the “Vitebsk” logo, – emphasized Elena Pantyukhova.
