The topic of developing one's small homeland was discussed at a citizens' reception with Natalya Kochanova

Head of the Belarus President's Administration Natalya Kochanova held a reception for citizens in Lepel, Vitebsk Region today.

Citizens not only from the Vitebsk region but also from Mogilev, Brest, and Grodno regions approached her with their problems. During her conversation with journalists, Natalya Kochanova noted that many diverse issues were received, ranging from housing problems to improving education. "Outreach receptions provide an opportunity to learn about what is happening in the region, what problems residents face, and such meetings show a certain level of local authorities' work with citizens' appeals. I was pleased that people come not only with their private issues but also try to do something for the common good, express suggestions on how to develop a particular settlement, especially where they were born," emphasized the Head of the President's Administration.

For instance, a resident of Smorgon spoke about the lack of order at some mass graves of World War I soldiers. The man is involved in historical reenactment, and with his help, the tourist site "Zolotaya Gorka" (a rise where a German observation post was located during World War I) was created. Such places help preserve the historical memory of the people and attract tourists from various countries.

A resident of Disna, the smallest town in Belarus in the Miory District, who came to the reception, expressed several ideas for developing production in the region so that people would not leave their native land. The woman also assured that she is ready to join any project for the development of the settlement. Natalya Kochanova noted that she would draw the attention of the regional authorities to Disna.

The Head of the President's Administration also focused on the importance of how various programs, plans, and laws are implemented locally. "Of course, issues were raised that local authorities should resolve promptly and not force people to sign up for appointments with regional or republican leaders. Problems must be solved promptly, primarily concerning issues of maintaining order on the land, improvement, which we are talking about in the Year of

of the small homeland, in particular. These tasks were also set by the head of state. Of course, some issues cannot be resolved immediately due to certain circumstances, but cases where people's problems are put on the back burner for several years in a row should not happen," said Natalya Kochanova.

About 40 issues were raised at the reception by the Head of the Presidential Administration, some appeals were collective. In addition to the topic of the development of small towns, housing problems and the ЖКХ sector were raised, aspects related to the improvement of courtyard areas, unfair dismissal of employees, long-term construction projects that threaten children's lives, lack of jobs, etc. were touched upon. All issues have been taken under control. Some will require detailed consideration.
