The issue of housing construction for large families dominated the reception of citizens by Kachanova
Head of the Belarus President Administration Natalya Kochanova held a reception of citizens in Verkhnedvinsk, Vitebsk region. The reception lasted almost four hours instead of the planned two. Following the reception, Natalya Kochanova spoke with journalists.
"There were quite a few issues. Residents of Verkhnedvinsk district came, and citizens from other regions arrived to talk about pressing issues. We hold such outreach receptions to help people solve their problems. But also to assess the work of local authorities. If they are attentive to the problems of residents, then issues are largely resolved locally. At the same time, of course, there are problems that need to be addressed at the level of ministries and republican departments. One of these, which was voiced today, is housing for large families. The government has already taken certain measures to provide housing for large families and increase credit resources for this year, but in small towns like Verkhnedvinsk, where apartment buildings have not been built for several years, this issue is quite difficult to resolve. I think this topic needs to be further elaborated at the ministry level," said the Head of the President Administration.
At the same time, Natalya Kochanova noted that it would be wrong to rely solely on the state to solve the housing problem. "Speaking about small towns, there is an opportunity today to allocate land plots for large families. They are ready to provide them, there are credit resources, but families cannot build because, for example, someone is not working," she said. "Not only the state should take care of large families, but people themselves should take measures."
In addition, Natalya Kochanova pointed out that several appeals concerned the activities of state bodies and organizations that directly work with people. "People should be treated correctly. The head of state spoke about this when he addressed
to Parliament and the people. People must be listened to and heard. This is very important. And today there were several such appeals, she stated. In cases where it is necessary to simply, clearly, and correctly explain to a person what needs to be done to resolve their issue, we start to reason, to give some assessments. This is unacceptable.During the meeting with Natalia Kochanova, 13 issues were raised, some of the appeals were collective. In addition to residents of the Verkhnedvinsk district, applicants from other districts of the Vitebsk region and the city of Vitebsk, as well as from the Gomel and Minsk regions, approached the Head of the Presidential Administration today. In addition to housing construction, problems in the housing and communal services sector, traffic management, road repairs, secondary resource processing, housing construction fraud, etc. were raised. All issues have been taken under control.
