The trend of reducing complaints about the work of housing and communal services continues in the Vitebsk region
The trend of a decrease in complaints about housing and communal services to executive committees continues in the Vitebsk region, a BELTA correspondent was informed at the department for work with citizens' and legal entities' appeals of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
In 2012, compared to 2011, the number of appeals on housing and communal services to the regional executive committee and city and district executive committees decreased by 13% and 9% respectively. Complaints about heating and hot water supply decreased by almost a third, and complaints about housing stock repair decreased by 16%.
According to specialists, the systematic work on capital repairs of the housing stock and improvement of territories contributes to the reduction of complaints about housing and communal services. Last year, 97 residential buildings were commissioned after capital repairs, 150.4 thousand sq.m of total residential area were commissioned, including 76.3 thousand sq.m with thermal modernization, which is 7% and 86% more than planned, respectively. Br140.8 billion were used for capital repairs of the housing stock.
At the same time, housing and communal services issues remain predominant in the structure of citizens' appeals received by the regional executive committee and city and district executive committees. Among the appeals received by the regional executive committee, every fourth one concerns housing and communal services, and in local executive committees, every third one. The pressing issues for people remain the condition of the housing stock due to exceeding the deadlines for putting houses into capital repair, the low quality of repair work, and delays in deadlines.
The Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee has approved a set of measures to solve socially significant problems of the population, including in the housing and communal services sector. In particular, local authorities have been instructed to ensure the implementation of plans for capital repairs and thermal modernization of the housing stock this year. Technical supervision of capital repair work by contractors is entrusted to local executive committees and housing and communal services enterprises.
