"Tekhnika svyazi" has begun serial production of import-substituting digital TV transmitters
May 23, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. OAO "Technika svyazi" has launched serial production of import-substituting transmitters for digital television broadcasting, the company's director Vyacheslav Klunduk told BELTA correspondent.
The new product was developed at the enterprise in accordance with the state scientific and technical program "Creation of modern radio communication means and systems and development of their production in the Republic of Belarus for 2007-2010". After conducting pilot tests, the Belarusian Radio Television Transmitting Center (BRTPC) signed a contract with the enterprise for the purchase of 14 digital transmitters. According to Vyacheslav Klunduk, the first six devices will be delivered in June of the current year.
In terms of technical characteristics, the digital transmitters developed by Belarusian engineers are not inferior to similar devices from foreign manufacturers, and are $5-7 thousand cheaper in price.
The development of serial production of digital transmitters is one of the eight projects implemented at OAO "Technika svyazi" under the state program. Currently, the "Sirius" radio communication complex for the digital trunked radio communication system segment and military radio stations have already been launched into serial production. The remaining projects have also been completed and are being prepared for serial launch.
As Vyacheslav Klunduk noted, all products developed and mastered at the enterprise in conjunction with leading Belarusian communication system developers are import-substituting, and trends in the development of digital broadcasting allow forecasting demand for them abroad.
