June 3, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. OJSC "Tekhnolit-Polotsk" plans to master colored art casting by the end of 2010, the enterprise's director Leonid Petrov told a BELTA correspondent.
For this purpose, it is planned to purchase a special melting unit for non-ferrous alloys in the near future. Its cost will be about Br100 million. The technology for manufacturing compositions from non-ferrous alloys has actually been mastered: the enterprise has a specially formed team that professionally engages in art casting from ferrous metals. In particular, many sculptural compositions for their hometown have been made by OJSC "Tekhnolit-Polotsk" employees. In addition, casting of chamber compositions for parks, recreation areas, and dachas has been mastered.
The enterprise's future plans include the miniature metal production of various monuments and sculptures of Polotsk and the Vitebsk region, as well as other attractions of Belarus at the request of customers. Souvenir products will find their demand among tourists and enterprises operating in this industry, Leonid Petrov is confident.
In January-May, the enterprise produced products worth Br6.9 billion, which is 12.2% higher than the same period last year. The profitability of sales is about 9%. Products worth $477 thousand were supplied for export to Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Latvia, and Lithuania, or 135% compared to January-May 2009. The share of exports in the total volume of sales is about 20%.
