The title 'Lord of the Village -2018' went to a family from the Beshenkovichi district
These are the results of the regional stage of the project. 10 families took part in the creative competition, which took place in Sharkovshchina.
In the top three prize-winners are the Kolupaevs from the Liozno district and the Mitskeviches from the Senno district.
– Such events contribute to increasing the prestige of agricultural professions among youth, instill patriotism, and love for work. The country rests on friendly, hardworking families, so let there be as many of them as possible in the Vitebsk region, – noted Yuri Vasylevsky, Deputy Chairman of the Sharkovshchina District Executive Committee.
According to Yuri Anatolyevich, each participating family is already a "Master of the Village". This title was awarded to them as winners of the district stages of the project. Therefore, the strongest entered the competition.
"Master of the Village", held for the eleventh consecutive year, originated in the Glubokoe district. This time, Valery and Alesya Syropyatko from the agro-town of Udelyo, along with their sons Andrey, Nikolay, and Konstantin, represented Glubokoe at the competition. The cohesive family took first place in the "For Firewood" competition, demonstrating agility and the ability to understand each other without words.
Viktor and Vitalia Karaban from the agro-town of Ivansk, Chashniksky district, surprised the jury and spectators by arriving at the festive stage on a homemade tractor. According to the hostess, who enjoys making frame dolls and beading in her free evenings, her husband has truly golden hands; he traded his first tractor for a good foreign car.
The Karaban family confidently took second place in several competitions, but they were unrivaled in preparing draniki on a burning log. Viktor prepared the aromatic dish according to his own recipe, grating potatoes in equal proportions on a coarse and fine grater, adding a little sour cream and onion. However, he did not add salt, preferring spices.
Other participants of the project offered draniki with fried juicy pepper, salo, or slices of chicken breast. In addition to sour cream, adjika, garlic sauce, and even berry kissel were served with the golden-brown dish.
"We Greet in Belarusian"
To participate in the regional stage, young spouses Nikolai and Inna Khatskevich brought from Beshenkovichsky district voluminous decorations stylized as a log wall of a village hut, and items of rural life. Having performed brilliantly, they were ready to even leave in Sharkovshchina, if only there was enough space in the car for the main prize – a calf weighing about 50 kg. However, there was no need to resort to extreme measures.
The title "Lord of the Village" is a prestige and pride for the friendly family from the village of Budilovo. For Inna from Vitebsk, who is both the support and inspiration for her beloved husband, life in the countryside is a joy. Inna and Nikolay performed a song about the beauty of their native places and their family as part of the "Vitayem pa-belarusku" competition.
Both were quite confident on stage, although, according to 24-year-old Nikolay, performing on stage was the most exciting moment for him. By profession, he is a mechanic. He worked at an agricultural enterprise for some time, and now he devotes all his energy to his own farm, helping fellow villagers cultivate their household plots.
– We have about 3 hectares of land, we raise bulls, chickens, geese, turkeys, – says Nikolay. – The children, although small, help feed the rabbits and quails. We grow potatoes, cabbage, grain, and fruits. We have been living in the village for six years. I met Inna in a school basketball club. And those tender feelings have not faded over the years; on the contrary, our family is becoming friendlier day by day.
The family took first place in the "Vitayem pa-belarusku" competition. The video about their rural homestead was recognized as the best. They also won at the exhibition of family farm achievements. By the way, the young hostess prepared many aromatic dishes, among which a place of honor was occupied by gingerbread swings – a miniature copy of those installed by her husband not far from their home.
Also, the Khatskevichs, having lost to Alexander and Elena Mitskevich from the Senno district, took second place in the "Sports Relay", one of the stages of which was "potato hockey".
