Tolochn will complete preparations for the regional "Dazhynki" in two weeks

Tolochna will complete preparations for the regional festival-fair of agricultural workers "Dazhynki" by mid-September. This was announced yesterday in the district center by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev.

The head of the region took part in a solemn event dedicated to Knowledge Day at Tolochna Secondary School No. 1, which received children after major repairs, and also familiarized himself with the progress of preparations for the regional "Dazhynki".

Sharing his impressions of what he saw at the city's construction sites, the governor noted that the work is on schedule and even ahead of schedule. "Practically all work will be completed by mid-September, so we will have time to properly prepare for the holiday. There is no nervousness, everything is done in a calm manner," said the head of the region. "The task was to update the city center and create a unique look for the settlement, its own highlight. Therefore, the central square and the park have acquired a completely different look. The House of Culture is unrecognizable; it has been modernized, and in terms of design and equipment, it is already an institution of a different level. It is also important that we have created a new library in the city. Nowadays, libraries are practically not built, money is not spent on them, but a library has appeared in Tolochna, and I am sure that it will benefit the population, especially young people and children. Librarians just need to intensify their work with the younger generation. For me, as the head of the region, this is very important."

According to him, holding the festival of agricultural workers and the large-scale preparation for the festival-fair are of great importance, and this practice should be continued. "Of course, it is difficult to perform such a volume of work, but there is a proverb - the eyes are afraid, but the hands do. This is exactly the path we are taking. Initially, we consistently determined the scope of work, who and with what resources would perform them, and now it is already evident that we have achieved a worthy result. Initially, it was planned to carry out work on 95 objects, now there are more than a hundred," stated the governor.

Nikolai Sherstnev emphasized that all this is being done for the people, and the city residents will undoubtedly appreciate the results. "They will live here, raise children, use medical services, the library, school, kindergarten, etc. This is a big undertaking for the city. And we will consistently continue this work," said the chairman of the regional executive committee.

The preliminary date for the regional "Dazhynki" festival in Tolochin has been set for September 25.
