The Tolochin Cannery has mastered the production of fruit and berry wines according to a homemade recipe
May 11, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. RUP "Tolochin Cannery" has mastered the production of fruit and berry wines, the enterprise informed a BELTA correspondent.
Gooseberry, red currant, black currant, and raspberry wines are produced according to a practically homemade recipe: fresh sugared juices undergo a long fermentation period without the addition of alcohol. Fruits and berries for their production are used from the plant's own garden, which covers an area of 492 hectares.
Initially, it is planned to produce 10 thousand decaliters of the new product. Then, based on demand assessment, the production volume of fruit and berry wines is planned to be increased.
In January-April, the enterprise produced products worth Br5.8 billion, which is 88.5% of last year's level. The profitability of sales was 8.3%. The decrease in production is primarily due to the reduction in the output of alcoholic beverages, the share of which in the total production volume is 88%. In total, over four months of this year, 211 thousand decaliters of wine were produced, compared to 254 thousand decaliters in the corresponding period of 2008, the enterprise explained.
At the same time, in January-April, compared to the same period last year, the production of potato starch increased by 60.1% to 341 tons. In addition, to master new types of products, the plant has expanded the grain acreage in its agricultural enterprises by more than one and a half times to 1.7 thousand hectares.
