Trade, transport and housing and communal services: what issues were raised at Anatoly Linevich's reception in Postavy
Public and personal problems are closely intertwined in most of the appeals from Postavy residents. A resident of one of the houses in the district center, which underwent major repairs last year, did not consider it completed, as there were unfinished works on landscaping the territory. She was also interested in additional charges from residents of cooperative houses. She received answers to all her questions immediately. In particular, the sidewalk near the house will be laid this year, not next year, as previously planned. But from the conversation with her, it became clear that some owners of apartments in housing and construction cooperatives are not sufficiently aware of many issues of housing and communal services. Anatoly Linevich recommended holding meetings with the chairmen of the associations to explain the provisions of the current system of servicing houses and yard territories.
The head of the Postavy branch of ATP No. 16 and the owner of a private transport organization complained about the organization of passenger transportation. Both presented documents confirming the unscrupulousness of a competitor who picks up passengers while moving ahead of scheduled buses, constantly carries out transportation, hiding behind one-time orders, etc. For this, he was deprived of his license, but, using loopholes in the legislation, he resumed his activities again. Those who appealed asked to tighten the control of the transport inspectorate over compliance with passenger transportation rules.
The issue of trade was also raised in Postavy. The closure of shops in small villages due to their unprofitability has worsened the quality of trade services for the population. A mobile shop cannot replace a stationary retail outlet, a resident of the village of Yedovtsy told the President's aide. Several dozen villagers, and in the summer, summer residents too, are asking the consumer cooperative to resume the operation of the shop, to spare no expense on repairing the building, and to ensure that trade is not unprofitable by taking care of product availability, looking at the future, rather than living by the situation of today.
Anatoly Linevich supported this message, advising the heads of the district and consumer cooperation to heed the villagers' request. "If we want to develop the countryside, to think about a more even distribution of people, then we must first of all take care of the quality of their lives, even if it does not promise profit at the initial stage," he emphasized.
During the reception, there were other appeals. Some of them were resolved on the day of the reception. Answers to questions that required deeper study will be given to the applicants later. But not a single one will be left without attention, the President's aide assured the residents of Postavy.
During his visit to Postavy, Anatoly Linevich also met with heads of various services included in the district's personnel reserve. He visited the district hospital, where he discussed with the chief physician Vladimir Chekavy the possibilities of accelerating the construction of neurological and surgical departments in order to vacate the premises of the Tyzenhaus Palace currently occupied by them, thereby improving the treatment conditions for patients and enabling the full use of the historical building for excursion activities.
