Belarusian trade organizations actively supported the campaign "To war veterans with love and gratitude"
May 5, Minsk / Tatyana Lobas - BELTA /. Trade organizations of Belarus actively supported the "To War Veterans with Love and Gratitude" campaign, which is currently underway in the country, the Ministry of Trade informed a BELTA correspondent.
Many trade organizations have reduced the trade markup on some industrial goods (by 10-100%) for veterans and war victims, and deliver bulky goods to their homes free of charge. For example, the capital's GUM offers a 65% discount on clothing, footwear, outerwear, hosiery, and corsetry. The Nemiga Trading House sells all non-food items without a trade markup, while TSUM "Minsk" and the Belarus department store offer a 10% discount on the retail price for the entire range of non-food industrial goods, and provide free additional services (gift packaging, fitting and minor alterations of clothing, overlocking carpets, delivery of bulky goods to homes with elevator access, etc.).
In all districts of Minsk, catering establishments are organizing charity dinners (lunches) for Great Patriotic War veterans.
In May, retail prices for footwear "Aladen", "Otiko", "Blik", "Belvest", "Krasny Oktyabr" were reduced by 10-20%, and for some models of leather goods "Galanteya" and "Kadziya" by 10%. This, combined with a simultaneous reduction in trade markup by 10-20%, will significantly reduce the cost of goods sold for customers.
Industrial enterprises, through their own distribution networks, are also reducing prices for veterans by 5-30%. Their gifts to veterans will be presented during the charity event by OOO "Mogotex Service" (Minsk), OAO "KIM" (Vitebsk), OAO "Kupalinka" (Soligorsk), OAO "Motovelo" and ChUPP " Vetraz-AV", SP "Dynamo Program".
Special attention is paid to serving Great Patriotic War veterans living in small towns. Mobile shops deliver goods at least twice a week, including based on pre-orders.
On May 9, retail trade will be widely deployed in places of mass celebrations, and a soldier's kitchen will also be operating. On this day, the trade network will operate as usual. -0-
