The solemn opening ceremony of the Vitebsk city military-patriotic club "Vityaz" was held at secondary school No. 40 named after M. M. Gromov

Classes for 20 schoolchildren at the club began on December 1. They are held twice a week: at the educational institution and at the military unit. It operates on the basis of military unit 5524.

The celebration began with a presentation by the district schools of the activities of their military-patriotic museums. Servicemen organized an exhibition of military weapons.

The guests of the holiday greeted the attendees: the head of the ideological work department of the main department of the commander of the internal troops, Colonel Alexander Stanchuk, the chairmen of the regional and city Councils of Deputies Vladimir Terentyev and Vladimir Belevich, the head of the main department for education of the regional executive committee Dmitry Khoma, the head of the department for education of the city executive committee Igor Kiryutenko, and others.

As Alexander Stanchuk noted, this is the sixth club of this profile opened on the basis of internal troops units:

— I must say that this is a good school of life; in the club, young people can undergo pre-conscription training at an advanced level. The knowledge gained will be useful to those who decide to enter specialized educational institutions and dedicate their lives to military service. Schoolchildren will get acquainted with the theory more closely, but still, a greater emphasis will be placed on practical classes. The guys have a special, keen interest in them.

Student Veronika Korshakova said that girls, although there are very few of them in the club, cope with the assigned tasks no worse than boys. Veronika likes disassembling and assembling weapons the most. She admitted that the classes build character, and perhaps in the future, she will consider military service.

— In "Vityaz", schoolchildren will receive real lessons of love for the Motherland, — noted Vladimir Terentyev. — And the upbringing of patriots is one of our most important tasks. Thus, this year, fourteen schools in the region were named after heroes, and active work is underway in this direction for twenty-two.

As the commander of the unit, Colonel Alexey Kulik, said, the plans include opening three more military-patriotic clubs at the locations of the brigade's units: in Orsha ("Vityaz"), Polotsk ("Rubezh"), and Novopolotsk ("Sokol").
